Gender Selection for Medical Reasons

When gender selection is used to prevent a genetic disease, the process is called "medical gender selection." In the so-called "sex-linked diseases," genetic diseases are inherited via the mother, and only male offspring are affected. This type of genetic diseases include muscular dystrophy and hemophilia, among others. Parents who are carriers of these genetic diseases may want to reduce the risk of having affected children by having female babies only.
In other cases, conditions are more severely expressed in one gender (Fragile X syndrome, autism, etc.) than the other. Parents who are carriers of one of these genetic diseases can choose to have babies of the gender associated with a less severe form of the disease.
Medical reasons for gender selection can also be psychological: a single female may feel better equipped to have a daughter than a son; parents who lost a child may feel a strong need for a child of the same gender

Elective Gender Selection

Sometimes gender selection can be "non-medical" or "elective." In such cases, a child of a specific gender is desired without obvious medical indications. The most frequent indication for such gender selection is "family balancing," when one gender is already represented in the family unit and the other gender is desired

How to Conceive the Gender of Your Choice

How to Conceive the Gender of Your Choice – Can it Really Work or is it BS?

If you have been trying to have a baby, then the thought will undoubtedly have crossed your mind of what sex it might be. Now, in most cases you may not be all that bothered which sex it is. Blessings come in all shapes and sizes, after all! But if you have already had several children of one sex, or want a child of a particular sex for some reason, then the idea of having a child of a different sex may be quite a stressful one and you may want to consider learning how to conceive the gender of your choice.
If you are someone in this position, then you may want to check out a book by Ashley Spencer called “Pick Pick The Gender Of Your Baby which claims to have helped 11,993 couples to choose the sex of their baby using a natural method that Ashley discovered in her research and which she claims has a 94.8% success rate.
The book was born after Ashley herself gave birth to her third boy and found herself mired in depression because he wasn’t a girl. At this stage, desperation became the mother of invention and Ashley knew that she had to find a way to conceive a baby girl no matter what the cost in terms of money or effort. She started to dig deeper than she ever had before into pregnancy research, seeing which showed promise, what worked and what didn’t.
The journey came to fruition with her husband stumbling upon a “lost seminar” that held the secrets that she had always been searching for, but until now hadn’t found. What she found when she watched this seminar with her husband amazed her!
There WAS in fact a method that had a stunning 94.8% success rate when it came to gender selection! It had been hidden in plain sight all the time, and Ashley knew that she had to test it out and complete her family with the girl that she had always so desired.
She set to work on becoming an expert in what was needed to make the method succeed, and had the full backing of her husband who also had similar goals. The first thing she did then was to apply the method she had discovered in her own life.
In truth it wasn’t all that difficult. She was amazed that the changes she needed to make in order to conceive the baby girl that she had always dreamed about were actually quite small and subtle, and she wondered if it could really be this easy. Had the secrets been staring her in the face all the time and she not seen them?

Well, 9 months later, Ashley finally gave birth to the baby girl she had always dreamed about and is living proof thatgender selection methods can work. Her family was complete and she decided to share her new knowledge in a book to help other desperate families achieve their dreams. Click this link for more details.

Prince or Princess? Choosing Your Baby’s Gender Before Conception: Worth the Investment?

The question of whether or not it is a worthwhile investment to explore ways that you can choose your babies gender is clearly a personal one. It may even be that when you first started out down this path, you never even realized that it was possible to influence the sex of your baby before conception. In actuality, there is good evidence to show that in fact there are things that you can do to influence it!
Alicia Pennington is the author of ““Prince or Princess? Choosing your baby’s gender before conception which is a guide to how you can influence the sex of your baby before conception.
“Choose” is honestly perhaps too strong a word for the method that Alicia recommends, because the fact is that this is not a “Magic Stork” solution, and so there is still the possibility that your baby could be of a gender that you wouldn’t have chosen. But the method does swing the odds dramatically in your favor because it is based on firm science as to how conception really works.
Alicia Pennington herself admits that it dramatically increases your chances of having a baby of the sex that you want, and that is closer to the mark. In fact, she claims that 94% of the couples who have followed her method have ended up by having the sex of child that they wanted.
This program could be of benefit to you, for example if you already have a child of one sex and want a second child of a different sex. Or, if perhaps you have had several children of one sex, like Victoria Beckham, for example who had three sons before finally having a girl, but would really love a child of a different sex to complete your family.
If you are in this position, then undoubtedly the small investment in Alicia’s book is something to consider.
Alicia is medically trained in this field, having been a midwife for a period of 12 years, and so this is a subject that she knows directly from the trenches. She talks about how during that time she met many families who were in the position of desperately wanting a child of a particular sex, and how this inspired her to start out on a journey to discover methods whereby women/couples would be able to choose the sex of their babies before they conceived.
When Alicia herself was about to start a family, she dived into the process of researching if there were methods that she could use to choose the sex of her very own child. In effect she became the guinea pig for her own method!
She decided along with her husband to have a baby girl and sure enough, 9 months later she was blessed with the arrival of her daughter Marie.
The real question that you need to answer before investing in this method is how much you really want a child of a particular sex. If the answer is “a lot”, then this is certainly worth checking out

Can Dietary Choices Impact the Gender of My Child?

There are many different things that can decide the gender of your future child. The dietary choices you make may have a big impact! Natural gender selection relies on a few different techniques to help increase the odds of having either a baby boy or a baby girl. While these methods are not 100% reliable, most couples have found that they do end up with the gender they wanted.  Realistically, it is a 50/50 chance, but there are a few things you can do to swing the percentage in your favor.
The foods that you eat can affect the future gender of your child for many different reasons. The main one is that your body’s PH needs to be at a certain level for each type of gender. The sperm that carry the chromosomes that decide baby’s gender require a different PH for a successful trip to the eggs for fertilization.
Sperm responsible for conceiving a boy carry the Y chromosome. They are small, agile and must reach their destination quickly before they expire. They need an alkaline environment in order to help reach the egg first.
The sperm responsible for conceiving a girl carry the X chromosome. They are much larger, more durable and though they may take longer to reach an egg, they have a greater chance of living long enough to do so. They prosper in an acidic environment.
Choosing the right foods to balance your PH levels appropriately may indeed have an impact on the gender of your child.
Eating for a Boy
If you want to have a boy, foods that contain potassium and sodium are very important. They are non-acidic by nature and will boost your body’s alkalinity. The recommended foods include bananas, sweet corn, red meats, and even sausages. It is important however that you eat these foods in moderation and include a healthy and balanced diet for proper health. Having too much sodium is never recommended. You should still aim to stay within proper dietary guidelines at all times.
Eating for a Girl
In order to have a girl, you should focus on foods that will boost acidity in your body. They include foods that are rich in magnesium and calcium. Broccoli is the perfect example of a food that contains high levels of both. Other foods you can eat include grapefruit, apples, dairy products, some fish (farm raised to avoid high levels of mercury) and leafy green vegetables.
What to Remember
Everything in moderation is key as well as proper nutrition. While there are other methods of selecting your child’s gender naturally, combining them with a proper diet will increase your chances for success. Ask your doctor if you have any questions about the foods that you should be eating

Tips for Gender Selection

If you want to try to increase the chances of having a boy or a girl, sometimes it all comes down to how you do it – literally. While there is no 100% method that will guarantee that you can select the gender of your child, there are specific positions that you can try that will increase the likelihood of selecting the gender you hope for.
How it Works
This works for a variety of different reasons, but is based in the fact that the two kinds of chromosomes that are responsible for gender selection are carried by sperm that are very different. The Y chromosome is responsible for conceiving a boy. The sperm that carry this chromosome are small, quick and able to cover the distance to the egg very rapidly. The downside is they don’t live very long and if they have to swim too far, they won’t be able to complete their journey successfully.
The X chromosome sperm are responsible for conceiving a girl. These sperm are much larger, and move quite a bit slower. However, they live a lot longer and have more endurance when it comes to reaching the egg.
How to Have a Boy- Ride ‘Em Cowgirl
Because the Y sperm need a little extra help in reaching their destination before they expire, positions that allow deep penetration are essential. The goal is to have the man orgasm as closely as possible to the neck of the cervix. This reduces the amount of time that the sperm will need to spend getting to the egg and closes the distance.
Positions that allow for this to occur include woman dominant, or woman on top as well as its other variation, commonly called Reverse Cowgirl. (Most men are a big fan of this one yes?) In these positions, the woman is on top of the man and can control how deeply he penetrates her. At the moment of orgasm, the woman should allow the man inside as deeply as possible.
There are a few other positions as well, but the important thing to remember is that the deeper the penetration at the moment of orgasm, the more likely you are to have a boy.
How to Have a Girl- Missionary for a Baby Girl?
If you would prefer to have a girl, the proper positions involve much shallower penetration. The X sperm are much more durable and need a little more time to reach the egg, allowing the Y sperm to die off before they get there. This means that the man should orgasm as far away from the neck of the cervix as possible.
Positions for shallow penetration include missionary, spooning and the lotus position where the couple wraps their legs around each other while sitting. The positions do not allow for deep penetration and the desired result of increasing the likelihood of having a girl can be achieved.
Don’t Forget- Ladies First for a Boy
There is one more thing to remember when choosing a position for choosing gender. If you do want to have a boy, it is important that the woman orgasm before the man. This changes the PH near the cervix, making it more hospitable to the Y sperm. The opposite is true if you want to have a girl. Click this link to fine out more

What Is a Sexual Fetish?

Health & Sex
What Is a Sexual Fetish?
While you might like the sight of your partner in a pair of high heels during sex, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have a shoe fetish.
A fetish is sexual excitement in response to an object or body part that’s not typically sexual, such as shoes or feet. They’re more common in men.
Many people with fetishes must have the object of their attraction at hand or be fantasizing about it, alone or with a partner, in order to become sexually aroused, get an erection, and have an orgasm.
A person with a fetish might masturbate while they hold, smell, rub, or taste the object. Or they might ask their partner to wear it or use it during sex.
Most Common Fetishes
People can “fetishize” almost anything.
There are many web sites about lots of fetish interests,. “Anything you could imagine.”
According to a study, the most common fetishes involve body parts, such as feet, or body features, such as obesity, piercings, or tattoos. The feet are by far the most common. Body fluid, body size, and hair fetishes aren’t far behind.
After body parts comes things you wear. The same study put clothes worn on the hips and legs, such as stockings and skirts, at the top of the list. Footwear, then underwear, ranked closely behind.
Fetishes that involve the feel of a certain material, often leather or rubber, are also common. Some people like dressing themselves and their partner in furry animal costumes.
Where Do Fetishes Come From?
Sexual behavior experts don't agree on the causes. Some people can trace their attraction back to early childhood, before they were aware of their sexuality.
A fetish can also come from seeing inappropriate sexual behavior during childhood or from sexual abuse, says Kenneth Rosenberg, MD. He's a psychiatry professor at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Are Fetishes OK?
A sexual fetish is not a disorder by definition, but it can reach that level if it causes intense, lasting distress.
What Is a Sexual Fetish?
Are Fetishes OK?

“Whether somebody is doing this by themselves or with a partner, if they’re happy with it, then it’s not an issue," Krueger says, as long as it causes pleasure and no one is being forced to take part.
“My patients come to me because they feel it’s a problem,” Rosenberg says. “Their behaviors are not interesting, fun, or even sexy. They are not simply experimenting with novel means of sexual expression. They are desperate, compulsive, and sometimes so distressed by their behaviors that suicide is a consideration.”
When it's a disorder, it feels out of control. Someone might disappear from work or home to practice their fetish in secret. This fascination could also keep them from doing their job.
“A physician could have a foot fetish, for example, and spend a large amount of time and attention on his patients’ feet,” Krueger says.
People with these disorders might also steal to get the object of their desire. Often, they can’t have meaningful sexual relationships with other people. They might prefer to have time alone with their object, even when they're in a relationship with another person.
“If your partner said, ‘Wear a pair of sexy shoes tonight,' you’d probably say, ‘Why not?’ But if your partner said, ‘You can sleep in the other room, just leave me your shoes,’ that would be a problem,” Rosenberg says.
Standard treatment includes medication and talk therapy with apsychiatrist or counselor.
Still, some fetishes can be harmless. A recent study on “adult baby/diaper lovers” found that among nearly 1,800 men and 140 women who report having this fetish, most said they were "comfortable" with their fetish and that it wasn't a problem.
The same can be said of people who enjoy bondage, discipline or domination, sadism, and masochism, commonly known as “BDSM,” Rosenberg says. As long as everyone agrees, then chances are “no one’s getting hurt in a way that is extreme or permanent, and everyone’s happy with what’s happening.”

10 Surprising Health Benefits of Sex

10 Surprising Health Benefits of Sex
The perks of sex extend well beyond the bedroom.
Sex not only feels good. It can also be good for you. Here’s what a healthy sex life can do for you.
Sex-Drive Killers Slideshow
1. Helps Keep Your Immune System Humming
“Sexually active people take fewer sick days,”.
People who have sex have higher levels of what defends your body against germs, viruses, and other intruders. Researchers at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania found that college students who had sex once or twice a week had higher levels of the a certain antibody compared to students who had sex less often.
You should still do all the other things that make your immune system happy, such as:
Eat right.
Stay active.
Get enough sleep.
Keep up with your vaccinations.
Use a condom if you don’t know both of your STD statuses.
2. Boosts Your Libido
Longing for a more lively sex life? “Having sex will make sex better and will improve your libido,”..
For women, having sex ups vaginal lubrication, blood flow, and elasticity, all of which make sex feel better and help you crave more of it.
3. Improves Women's Bladder Control
A strong pelvic floor is important for avoiding incontinence, something that will affect about 30% of women at some point in their lives.
Good sex is like a workout for your pelvic floor muscles. When you have an orgasm, it causes contractions in those muscles, which strengthens them.
4. Lowers Your Blood Pressure
Research suggests a link between sex and lower blood pressure,
“There have been many studies,” he says. “One landmark study found that sexual intercourse specifically (not masturbation) lowered systolic blood pressure.” That's the first number on your blood pressure test.
5. Counts as Exercise
“Sex is a really great form of exercise,”. It won’t replace the treadmill, but it counts for something.
Sex uses about five calories per minute, four more calories than watching TV. It gives you a one-two punch: It bumps up your heart rate and uses various muscles.
So get busy! You may even want to clear your schedule to make time for it on a regular basis.  “Like with exercise, consistency helps maximize the benefits,”
6. Lowers Heart Attack Risk
A good sex life is good for your heart. Besides being a great way to raise your heart rate, sex helps keep your estrogen and testosterone levels in balance.
“When either one of those is low you begin to get lots of problems, like osteoporosis and even heart disease,”.
Having sex more often may help. During one study, men who had sex at least twice a week were half as likely to die of heart disease as men who had sex rarely.
7. Lessens Pain
Before you reach for an aspirin, try for an orgasm.
“Orgasm can block pain,”. It releases a hormone that helps raise your pain threshold.Stimulation without orgasm can also do the trick. “We’ve found that vaginal stimulation can block chronic back and leg pain, and many women have told us that genital self-stimulation can reduce menstrual cramps, arthritic pain, and in some cases even headache,” http://amzn.com/B00GYBLNY6

8. May Make Prostate Cancer Less Likely
Going for the gusto may help ward off prostate cancer.
Men who ejaculated frequently (at least 21 times a month) were less likely to get prostate cancer during one study, which was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
You don’t need a partner to reap this benefit: Sexual intercourse, nocturnal emission, and masturbation were all part of the equation.
It's not clear that sex was the only reason that mattered in that study. Lots of factors affect cancer risk. But more sex won’t hurt.
9. Improves Sleep
You may nod off more quickly after sex, and for good reason.“After orgasm, the hormone prolactin is released, which is responsible for the feelings of relaxation and sleepiness" after sex.
10. Eases Stress
Being close to your partner can soothe stress and anxiety.
Touching and hugging can release your body's natural “feel-good hormone.” Sexual arousal releases a brain chemical that revs up your brain’s pleasure and reward system.

Sex and intimacy can boost your self-esteem and happiness, too. It’s not only a prescription for a healthy life, but a happy one.
